I have a 96 F250 7.3 I acquired for free. It has a harsh 1-2 up shift and 4-3 downshift. The truck has no transmission codes. It has led tail lights and third brake light which I plan to swap out just in case it’s contributing. I do have a P0107 code for baro sensor. Can that affect transmission? It went away for like 3 days and now it’s back.
Good point I didn't even think about that. I unplugged the TRS and it did set off the code (P1705) but I had to run the KOEO self demand test for it to show. I also see P0107 and P0470. P0470 I checked the EBPS and its clogged big time. Unsure if those codes are related to my issue. Wanted to cover everything possible before dropping transmission.
When I acquired the truck that transmission had no gears so I dropped it and replaced it with an E40d my buddy had. I reached out to the old owner today and he said the last E40d that was in the truck had a hard 1-2 as well. This could be a coincidence but unsure at the moment.
Going to replace the third brake light and tail lights. I don’t care for the LED anyway. Replace the BARO to see if that code goes away and then drop the 1-2 Accumulator body and see if it’s broken. If so good accuse to reach out to BTS and get one from them. Will keep this updated.
