I bought the whole rack and pinion when I had leaks.

These links are for a 1997 Aerostar. Your "About" information says you've got a 1962 so it won't be much help.

Here's a listing at RockAuto for a kit:
https://www.rockauto.com/en/catalog/...+seal+kit,7396

or, here's the whole rack and pinion assembly:

Give replacing the seals a try and see what you think.
Let us know if you think doing that would be any easier than replacing the whole rack and pinion.

I would think that replacing the seals will be more work than just replacing the rack. You have to remove and install the rack, but in between, you have to rebuild the rack.

If the rack parts are not worn out, it's worth rebuilding. In other words, the new seals need to be able to seal against good surfaces. If the rack itself is worn out, the new seals will not fix that. If the wear is not too severe, the worn rack may be re-surfaced, but may require special tools to do that.

This may be the problem with so many rebuilt racks; they just replace the seals on racks that may already be too worn.
