Should there be a power plug connection for a glove box light on a 1973 f100?I was hoping the wiring harness had a connection even if the truck did not have this option?
This web page doesn't have diagrams for a 73, here it is for a 74.
Green wire with yellow stripe. connector located above glove box. If you have it and the courtesy lights fuse is good it will have constant 12 volts. Factory switch grounds when glovebox door is open.
X2 there should be a wire and yes I believe it is green, look behind the glove box, migth be easier to remove the glove box liner. Look for a black 3N1 constant 12V bullet connector power source. There should be a single bullet connector going into that 3N1 that goes to the cig lighter. And that wire might have a Y, that is the glove box light wiring plugs into.
This is the 12v keyed power port on the dvrs side.
2 wires green and yellow. Or green with yellow stripe. You can see the lone bullet connector. Black 3N1 constant 12V port for cig lighter and glove box light pwr.
1979 Bronco w/a/c and the wire was long enough to come down from behind the dash and almost to the passenger side floor.

I had a dedicated green and yellow plug for the light.Snapped right in and works good the only problem was button would not turn off when closed,so I had to put a rubber bumper on lid to activate switch?????

So does the other end of that wire come from a wire bundle near by? And does it Y off and go to the cig lighter? What vendor did you get the glove box light switch from?
Yes the wire was near by.I used a tester and seen it had voltage all the time.Light came from LMC part # 49-6113.I replaced box with a new cardboard like original.I didn't like the plastic they offer.
