Hello, Ike here with a 78 2wd Camper special. Running a 400 with a Holley 2bbl. I do not have the manual choke connected, and I have attempted to install an electronic choke, however the instructions aren't as simple as I'd like. I can not even get past the first few steps. I have been able to remove the old linkage, however there are some issues with installing the fast idle cam. I attempted several times and gave up and put on the old non-working choke on the truck. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks for the responses so far. No governor seen. I have seen that video. I feel like the The shaft of my Holly carb was not that long, as in the video and I could not get it on at all. I even engaged the accelerator slightly to lengthen the arm and it still would not attach. I did score a 4bbl carb with an electric choke, however reading the truck may not be as "responsive" as it is now. I feel that she has a lot of pep when I accelerate as it is. I also need a new intake.. so the saga continues. A lot of cold weather feathering of the gas pedal as I am the choke on a 20 degree day.. lol. Thanks again.
I'm not really sure what you have going. but if your 4V is a smaller CFM and it's set up right you can install it on your 2V manifold with a simple 4x2 adapter. it's not ideal but it does work people have been doing it for decades.
