My 2016 RAM 2500 was a fantastic truck. I only switched to Ford because I wanted a wide track front end and RAM does not offer a pickup version of the 4500 like Ford does with the 450. I also have a 2017 Chrysler Pacifica that is in great shape, and a 2013 Town and Country before that.
I have owned plenty of vehicles, from trucks to cars and SUVs, from GM, Ford, and Chrysler - and none of them stunk or were plagued with issues.
its no use arguing with the op. he hasnt a clue. i also had several older (when they were chrysler) and newer ram. they were all fantastic vehicles for me
ford is responsible for what likely will go down as the very worst pickup truck in automotive history. the f150 through mid 90s to early 2000s. 26 recalls put on a single model year. just try and wrap your head around that for a minute

I'm glad I didn't know that back then! I had an 99 F150 with the 5.4 that was my first truck. Ran like a top except for when it had one of those #8 spark plugs being blown out. Local shop helicoiled it and had be back and running in a day. Sold it with 210,000 when i relocated to the left coast.
You're right - you'll never convince me to buy another Stellantis product. I have one right now (that i plan to keep forever, knowing the pain it might give me) and sold another a week ago because local dealers wouldn't support it. Neither were trucks.
I’ve had several RAM HD trucks and they were all excellent…two diesel, two gas 6.4L engines. The fact is that each brand does a few things better and a few things worse than the other brands. None are perfect. You pick what you think is the best combo.

Well... it sounds like Ford is carrying their legacy... I heard somewhere recently that Ford is tops on the recall list for 2025.

im not suprised. we just got our 2022 7.3 f550 back from the dealer a few weeks ago. lifters and cam ate themself and destroyed the motor. we have another identical truck still on original motor but i dont have much hope for it long term

I've owned dozens of vehicles (including pickups) made by quite a few different manufacturers. While most were good and some had thier fair share of problems, the only truck that ever left me stranded (twice, mind you), was my 2002 Dodge RAM 5.9L 1500 (bought new). I will never buy another RAM.

Ford is under a third party monitor due to failures in the past to declare recalls. So they are erring on the side of declaring recalls to avoid further problems.
...and, they aren't all good, either. It's the luck of the draw.
I was just under my truck Saturday, investigating the steering column clunk... for the second time... and I noted I have a front main leak, now, too.
Of course it's the luck of the draw. Its a machine designed and built by man. Buying parts from vendors that are meeting the bid price. Being put together by workers where some don't give a crap or maybe, just maybe on purpose put stuff together halfazz. I have no doubt there are bunk parts that's what the warranty is for if you want to play games with the dealerships.
My truck had a crankcase oil leak at 15k or so miles, warranty fixed it. I didn't cry like a little baby like some on the forum. Crap breaks....fix it and move on. Yeah I know.... it's 60, 70, 80, 90, 100 thousand dollar truck, so what. Same assembly line just extra bling to break.
If folks don't want the headache of owning machines use mass transit. Oh I hear it already.... I live in the counrty, well move to the city. Sometimes you have to bad days to appreciate to good days. 😉
