2000 excursion with trailer light issues

I have a 2000 xlt 6.8 v10 excursion. I recently ran into a issue with my work trailer. Long story short is I needed a new wire harness. After wiring it all up I have break and blinkers but no running lights. I do not understand why it's acting like this. I have checked the fuse under the hood. I do have a license plate light out I don't know if it's ran through that or not. Any suggestions on why I have blinkers and breaks but no running lights would be appreciated.

Check the ground on your trailer and/or get a wiring tester you can plug into the socket on the ex

This Inline Tester is the Cat's Meow for figuring out "which way" the trouble is.

Inline 7 pin trailer light tester Inline 7 pin trailer light tester

and if you think it is forward of the connector, just get a new pigtail with connector

I always drill a hole and bolt a White Wire to the Bumper of the truck,
and do the same for the Trailer's frame.
use a Bullet push/pull connector to complete the circuit....

ball hitches "are not a ground", most have grease on them anyway.

Trailer wiring issues are normally a ground problem! I always tell people to start with the ground wires first then check fuses. A tester is awesome and helpful. Good luck 👍

so it's not the trailer itself. I hooked it up to my f250 and everything worked, so its something wrong with the x it's self.

this is my plan if attack today, as i figired out its not the trailer and is the truck as i hooked this up to f250 and everything worked. Which would lead me to belive its the hookup on the excursion.

Where did the replacement harness come from, and is it for the correct year of X?
