1950's Canadian-built decode help
I have done website searches to try and find some kind of “Canadian decode” table and I also searched this group for the same but have had no luck. I also do not see a pattern in the serial number which would help me identify the year for these plates.
Shown in the included table are the serial numbers of the 12 plates I have not been able to determine the model-year.
If anyone has a webpage link or is able to identify the model-year for these, it would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you for any assistance you may be able to provide.
Tom
They are pre-1966. In 1966 Ford and Mercury trucks started sharing the same warranty plate layout so Canada didn't have their own unique system any longer.
For 1965 and older - the sequence numbers are those that don't end in L (left hand) or R (right hand). It's the numbers that end in A, B, etc. that matter to determine the year. Incidentally, the A, B, etc. is the load weight rating category.
The first 2 are older than my own 1961 books go back to.
Thank you very much for your help in identifying these serial numbers. As for the 1505250 serial number, you were correct that I copied it incorrectly. The 6 character number is 150250B
