I will look at that! That would be amazing if the system fights another day lol.

If its part of the problem, its coming out.

Start with checking the voltage to the pump.

Went back and re-read the original post. Seems that most of the factory fuel system has been modified. So to me the tank switch manifold or the FPR are the most suspect.

Do the deadhead off the pump first. That will determine if it’s upstream or downstream.

Get a clear piece of hose temporarily and install it on the intake side of the pump to eliminate any doubts about air intrusion. Your symptoms sound very strongly to me of an air leak somewhere between the fuel tank and the fuel pump inlet.

Im off to the store to get all the adapters, pipe, some extra couplings, and some fuel line. That should give me everything i need to atleast find the problems and bypass what i need. Get somebfacts going now that i got the guessing out of my system lol.

Put a voltmeter on the pump power and also check the pump ground.

Some pics.

The manifold.

I think may have found a problem. I took the fuel bowl out to replace the drain valve, and popped open the fpr. There is no spring? Where did the
spring go? This doesnt look right.

Ill order a new fpr.

I’ve been waiting for an update.

FPR Housing.
FPR Housing.
Inside of FPR Housing

Spring nestles into FPR housing

Assembly in order.
Assembly in order.

I noticed your country is listed as CA. Assuming Canada and since at 1:30 my time yesterday you said close to dark your central to eastern.

I have a spring I can pop into an envelope and have it headed your way today. PM me if you haven’t already ordered it.

For sure, No Spring, No pressure.

This is what my housing looks like.

The jungle flea market can have a dorman here for tomorrow. That beats out all the parts stores. Its ordered. Ill measure fuel pressure since its setup, but i must agree, this would be a major problem.

Ill report back.

Yup. That needs to be replaced.

Hopefully the Dorman works out for you.

I was thinking the same thing, along with all the cast aluminum that’s missing from the housing.

Not sure how far it would make it down the line but thankfully it’s the return line so debris would just go to the tank and be filtered out if ever picked up.

Not sure if my ATD/OCD would allow that to go unaccounted for though.

Issue is it would never make it to the tank. It would get stopped in the miles of extra tubing, or the manifold for sure (the manifold has to switch the return too). Where does the hard line stop for the return from the bowl? I bet the non-factory lines starts there. Looks like by the frame somewhere. I have a new intake to install so maybe it just comes out and try and blast some air in the other end. It could have fallen out while cleaning it last week.

Hard line is in sections. Drops down and ends behind the power steering pump.

^^^ that bend looks pretty sharp and looks like the spring wouldn’t make it past that point.

Goes to flex across to the frame, then flex connects back to hardline along frame.

You could disconnect here and blow the line out.

Factory setup that hardline follows the frame to fuel tank where there is another flex line taking it to the tank.
