Sealant

I have a 1972 F600 I am doing some body work on. The drip edge for the top of the truck needs the sealant replaced. What type of sealant do I need and what is the best way to remove the old sealant?

You're asking about body repair in a truck forum. I'm not surprised at the silence. I've resealed body seams after sandblasting, but I don't recall which 3M product I used, and there are several. You might ask in a forum about body work.

Search "automotive seam sealer" and you will find several varieties. Eastwood and 3M came up right away, direct or via Amazon.

You're working on a '72 F600. Do you need a panel cutter and a welder too? Cowl, door bottoms, windshield, cab corners--no end to places where rust gets it's way.

Good luck with it.

No the rest of the body is in good shape. I just noticed some of the sealant around the drip edge was weathered and cracked some so wanted to replace it. Only way I will know if there is rust underneath is to remove it. I was uncertain as to what to use to replace it with. Yea I guess I was asking for the wrong info but I figured somebody here had already been there and done it. Thanks
