Engine compartment and components compatibility?

Morning everyone,

First time posting here, but belong to other ford diesel sites as this is my only gasoline ford.

Story...

2003 f350, no frills very basic box truck.

Rebuilt engine and transmission less that a year old, only about 3k since.

Caught on fire due to transmission oil leak on passenger side of the engine catching the sound deadening/ heat padding on fire I believe, that part does not matter really. But what does, is that it also caught the hood pad on fire and it dropped onto the engine and melted practically every wire and everything plastic in the engine compartment.

I had it out before the fire trucks showed up but for "safety" the guy sprayed allot of water in the engine compartment. Because the intake was completely meleted off, water was also sprayed directly at the valve body. even though the butterflies were closed. Now he did not have serious pressure by any means but still. So now I have two questions.

Do we think the engine has to be dissasmbled "heads taken off" to check for water in any of the cylinders? Or will it all drain into the pan after X number of days and it will be ok to just change all fluids and run it again?

i do not have the time, or budget to pull apart the motor to check. So Assuming the consensus is yes, should be fine, the next question is. What years are the entire engine compartment plastics and wiring, plus the plastic components off the engine and transmission are the same and direct bolt on / swap with my 2003? I have found some trucks for parts for pretty cheap and would love to go that route if possible. But, they are not 2003's, so what years can I use from one single truck not sourcing from multiple trucks other than a 2003?

I would pull the plugs, fill the cylinders with WD-40 and change the oil, then turn the engine over a few times by hand before new plugs. 99-04 "should" interchange as far as wiring, but there may have been some updates or changes. I would think the later the model year, the better.

2000 model year, changed to the PI , engine changes .
intake is different than 99 , I imagine it might fit .
with that , I would find the same group of PI ,2 valve components.

Start by starting to drain the oil. If it starts out draining as oil with no water then stop. If it starts as water then let it drain slowly until it is just oil draining, then stop. Then I agree, pull the plugs and turn over by hand a few times to get most of the water out, then keep the plugs out and crank with the starter for a few seconds. Then put it back together, drain/fill oil, etc.
