Yes it is. There was bulletin issued. Finding a Motorcraft replacement is tough these days. I believe Standard Motor Products still makes them and includes the new connector and instructions.
As for the codes, I didn't grab them as I was trying to get back on the road. It will happen again and I'll grab them then. When I'm not on the side of the road.

That's a good way to pretend you're fixing it, when all you are really doing is wasting time and money. If you don't have the codes, you don't know what is wrong.
It is possible for a bad MLPS (now called a TRS) to cause a false neutral at highway speeds and not set a code. Most failure modes of the sensor WILL set codes.
I can't come up with a way the MLPS (or TRS) could fail that could cause your problem.
7A247 is the middle part number portion F5TZ-7A247-A
Idk about you but i have found like 40 listings in 5 minutes of looking for the part, all aftermarket but to be clear it must be an MLPS , the later trucks haad an identical looking digital one that is not gonna work

So you don't really understand how diagnostic codes work?
They are stored in memory for retrieval later without the need for an issue actively occurring or a check engine light being illuminated.
If you don't have codes or a pass code, that says something too.
