First service at 2500 miles?
"the oil manufacturers just love this thought process"
It's hard to glean the meaning sometimes, I mean that sincerely.

I've also noticed other brands that used to recommend early changes (BRP for one) have now stopped. And that has nothing to do with the EPA which is the reason cited many times. Ford has not, and and does not recommend early changes for any reason or application, including these EPA exempt trucks. Something to consider.
Ford keeps increasing oil capacity for 1 reason only, to extend change intervals.

Usually im a bit early changing oil out of new engines. Most of my 4 wheeled vehicles get one at 1k and the 2 wheels get the first at 200 miles.
No harm in running the first engine swap early. The bikes wet clutch leaves lots of swarf.
Years ago had a mate running a fleet of trucks. Had a few new engines go in at the same time, one he did early at 1k, the second he let go until 5k.
The results, no difference between the two, three years and 120k later.
Way too many variables to come a definitive. Quality oil can be had for a low price, I see no harm.

I recommend that you follow the manufactures service recommendations and keep all receipts and document everything you do.
Hopefully you never use your warrenty, but if you do and it is an oil related failure, you want to make sure that Ford does not try and deny coverage because you did not do the recommended maintenance.
