This appears to be a '77, what is telling your '72?
F60 = F600 gas, 4x2
D = 330 2V HD "XD" FT gas V8
V = Kentucky Truck Plant
060156 = 1977 numerical series, November 1976 production. (The "O" or "0" is skipped over in '72, but featured in '77 numbers)
176 = 176 inch wheelbase
No color code--truck was a special order and that could have been part of it.
F602 = F600 gas, 4x2, 19,200 lbs GVWR. (A '72 F602 lists at 20,000 lbs GVWR)
DR8
DR = Opt. knit vinyl for std. trim
8 = Regular cab, cab and chassis vehicle.
O = New Process model NP-542-FL five speed direct transmission
E2K
E2 = Eaton model 16244 two speed rear axle, 17,500 lbs capacity, 6.17 / 8.58 ratios
K = Ford model 5500 front axle, 5.500 lbs capacity, with power steering
19200 = 19,200 lbs GVWR
528074
52 = Dallas District Sales Office
8074 = Special Order Number
A '72 should be a Bump side, a '77 a Dent side.
Is it a runner/turner/stopper etc?
To answer a few of your questions.
1. "This appears to be a '77, what is telling your '72?"
It's what I was told.
2. "A '72 should be a Bump side, a '77 a Dent side."
I'll look and get pic tomorrow.
3. "Is it a runner/turner/stopper etc?"
Other than minor issues, it ran great, until the packrats got to it this fall. Body's got some ware and tare to it. Paint and or repairs are definitely "farm quality". Was originally red, then green, so guessing it was either forestry or local government use, now a white that turns black when it gets wet.
Touchy breaks are what I am going to have to look into though. They grab very hard, when they grab. No leaks.
If it's only one wheel grabbing, that's the one to look at. Same if it pulls to one side when braking, but if both rears are locking, you might have a defective brake booster (or multiple leaks that aren't large enough to give a telltale Spirograph/spin art signature on the rear of the inside dual tires. Or even both front hoses swollen shut or both front wheel cylinders frozen. I've seen all of those options, lol.

Is that one of those front-brakes-disable valves I've heard about? Or does it lock some of the brakes instead? I can't read the label.
