Anyone have a recommendation for a hood protector for a 2026 F250? I would prefer one that isn't 3m taped to the hood, but if that is the best way to go I would get it. I'm not really interested in the paint protection film. Ford sells one on their site but they don't have anything for F250s made after 2022.
All I’ve ever used is AVS Aeroskin. They’re stick on but they’ll never come off. I’ve had them on many trucks. I have a car wash subscription so I’ve been dozens and dozens of times with no problems.
It would be difficult to remove without breaking it so I let them go at trade time.
Not sure why you're opposed to PPF? When done correctly with quality materials it does an awesome job protecting and is virtually invisible. I've done my last three trucks and it was a great investment.
I looked into doing the hood and front end in PPF. Beside the high cost of putting it on seveal companies in my area, who have done PPF for years, are getting out of the PPF business. Most said they were not happy with the long term results. Not sure what's fact or fiction.
As for the front hood protector/deflector, I opted for Ford's Super Duty hood deflector on my 24 F350, eventhough it is attached with 3M tape I like the sleek look. My daughter had the textured Airoskin on her Ford and for me, I don't like the way it looks with the raised fin.

I'm not a PPF hater but it is too expensive for what you get, and there is some question of the long term (5 years or more) viability.

It is expensive, no doubt. As far as long term viability goes, it has been on my mini van for 8 yrs and 10 mos (3M brand) and on my F250 for 6 yrs and 3 mos (Xpel brand). Both look as good, in terms of clarity, as when they were applied which included full hood and front fenders among other areas. I also had it applied to the headlights which has saved them from going cloudy over time. Viability might vary for other brands.
I do my own PPF, its not that hard as long as you have patience. Getting into the letters or aligning the letters on the cutout film is the trickiest part. You do need a garage to do it though, you cannot do it out in the sun or with any breeze at all as dirt will get under it. I get it from Invisiblemask.com.
I had the Ford one on my 17 that was spaced off the hood. I purchased the stick on one from Ford for my 25. I like the look and I don't have to worry about it breaking with ice/snow or junk sitting under it.

That looks really good.....happen to have a part number for that?
