Hello everyone! I own a 1992 f150 with the 300 and a 5 speed, now the biggest issue ive had with this truck is the slave cylinder. When i bought the truck around 2 and a half years ago it leaked out of the slave cylinder, i daily drove it and just added (at first i added "clutch fluid" before realizing it was supposed to be DOT 3) brake fluid from time to time. Sometime last year the clutch went fully out, fluid was spraying out so bad i could barely get it into the shop. I replaced the clutch plate, slave cylinder, and throwout bearing (and i think the rear main seal too) and it was awsome! for awhile, not even an oil change later or so and it started leaking again, i don't think its the master cylinder which means its probably the slave again. Something i didnt do was changing the brake fluid and flushing the whole hydrolic system, maybe the contaminates made it go out? It sat for awhile and i would really love to get the pickup up and driving again, does anyone have any thoughts or ideas? any good transmissions i can put behind this motor that wont be such a pain? I know this transmission has had MANY rebuilds before i got it, so even if i get it right ill probably be dealing with it again as i plan to keep this thing forever. I wouldnt mind a 4 speed, i dont intend to drive it on the freeway anyway, im just kinda over these internal slave cylinders. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated! Thanks
If you want manual, ZF5 is the easiest swap probably. The Mazda trans is a good one though. I pull a landscaping trailer 5 days a week in stop and go small town roads.
Updating because i should have done more poking around before posting, turns out its my clutch hydraulic line thats leaking where it connects to the slave cylinder! Much easier fix, hopefully.
I can just hook up the new line and then have someone pump the clutch pedal a few times and then hold it down and crack open the bleeder valve on the slave cylinder right?

You may have a leak. I thought I did too. that went on and on through 2 clutch kits. I finally found the inside clutch pedal assembly had an issue with bushings. Last thing I thought to look at. I had them replaced and it's like a new M50D, amazing what the little things will cause
