I checked the price on the Delvac 1300 at that sight
DELVAC 1300 SUPER 15W40 5 GAL PAIL $6.28per gal $31.40
a little cheaper in the 30 gal and 55 gal drums
but I can get it locally (at Wal_mart of course) for $5.88 a gallon and I dont have to pay shipping. Since I only put about 12,000 to 15,000 a year on the truck I don't see the need to store a 55 gal drum.
For me I can't justify the expense of syns when I change my oil every 5,000 miles.
I know all the arguments about long life and extended change intervals. But I have never seen any long term proof that it is more cost effective over the life of the engine.
I am even skeptical about using synthetic in my Harley. Even though Harley has come out with their own synthetic which is highly recomended by the MotorCompany, but cost almost twice as much as their regular oil and they recomend the same change.
intervals. Just my opinion I may be wrong but I only have to please myself

Thats a great price for that type, and good info.
The type I am looking for is Mobil Delvac1 5w 40
two very different oils.

Thanks this has turned out to be very tuff to find.
I buy mine in 1 gal containers at places like Farm & Fleet, or Tractor Supply. I have not seen MD1 in 5 gal containers. Have you called the Mobil distributor for your area?
I used to live up in wisconsin, and we used to get our oil from farm and fleet in madison, but since we moved, it is hard finding even rotella T, for a decent price. We could get it up there for about 32 dollars a 6 gallon case, down here it is about 8 dollars a gallon. It is the best oil i have even used in my diesel, i see no reason to turn away. I used Mobil 10w-30 dino oil in my gasoline stuff, some people do not like mobil, can anyone think of something wrong with mobil oil?
