Great group, wish I found yall when hunting some problems on my 96 f150 xlt with 5.0. Anyway, one I can't figure out is, between 35-50 my truck will shudder like a manual in the wrong gear and rpm. Mine is an automatic with 30k on it. It is rebuilt. Truck has 430k on it original motor with great compression. This problem has been happening since before the rebuild. Let off the gas it goes away, slide in neutral goes away, floor it and it goes away. It's annoying but as far as I can tell is not hurting anything. It also has new TPS,and new tires Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

You might want to check the center carrier bearing on the driveshaft if so equipped.. With 430k on it, things get worn out! Might be worth looking at the rest of the U-joints, too! Also look at the trans mount.
Which auto transmission? What gear is the shifter in and what gear is the transmission in when this happens?
I don't know the tranny numbers but I'm pretty sure it's 4 speed with od. Shifter is in drive and tranny is definitely in second maybe even third. I don't think it's a trans problem cause of this problem happened before the trans rebuild.
There are two choices: E4OD or 4R70W. What is the transmission code on the driver’s side B pillar? The selector is in drive with or without OD on? Was that the reason for the rebuild? Are there KOEO fault codes?
Dear Ford Bro. I have a 95 f150 4x4 with A 5.0 I had a similar issue. After replacing both motor-mounts which were due for the trash can. I found the main ccause of my issures was he harmonic balancer.. Your truck should run faiirly smooth unless you have my issues. A fairly easy fix. But that was my issue good luck
Could be a misfire or torque converter clutch or……

Yes. That’s another possibility. I had a vibration in the T-bird that would come and go. I/we (I was in Ford Tech training program (ASSET) at the time) found the engine mounts were shot. We don’t have enough information to go on to narrow down the problem with the OP’s truck.
