We used to take my truck all the time, but we have gotten to where we try not to take the truck unless it's a longer trip. Plus, in most area's around me it is much easier to drive and park my wife's car than our truck. Saying that, I do love driving my truck, and every time we take her car I do wish we were getting in the truck instead...
As much as I like my truck I'm OK letting it sit most of the time now, not racking up miles while I daily drive a 2025 Hyundai Santa Cruz getting 28-30 mpg. It's a great little run around vehicle and I can do some minor truck duties with it.
Super Duty stays plugged into a battery maintainer and I drive it once or twice a week for a little "excercise".
We both prefer the truck to her Infiniti jelly bean SUV. The truck is smoother, quieter, and roomier. Plus, I ordered it with recliner seats which she uses on long drives because of her chronic pain. Dangerous? Yeah, but she thinks it worth the risk.
My wife always preferred to take her Explorer. We have since sold that to our son. We acquired an Expedition, just waiting to get out of the shop(VVT repair), she has driven it a total of 10 mi since purchase. In the meantime we are using the Honda CR-V. It’s just the two of us, so the back seat is usually folded down, you can haul a fair amount of crap in the back! For bigger loads we lake the F-350.
We have a 23 explorer st, bought new apr 24
and the 24 f250 bought new jan 25
ex has 9700 milrs
250 has 7400
Of wife drives.. its explorer
I drive the 250 is preferred
But if one has sat for 2 weeks, we take that vehicle
The 250 imo rides better and more comfy
The explorer is harsh compared to the 250
But it will scooooot in a hurry
Interior sound deadening is far superior in the 250
Radio is also much better
Long trips....f250
Dog gets entire back seat area.
my back seat area is folded up
Dog protectors on seats, floor and doors
So I use that as excuse not to carry people in back seat...
If we need people space ,
