What fun stuff did you randomly learn about while driving?
Driving back from mountain biking, there was side route up a steep rocky incline shortcut instead of the longer route dirt road. Hmmm... So I put it in 4low and headed up the hill. A hi res pic of directly in front of the truck popped up on the center screen, showing the rocks and ruts in detail, and an indicator of path of the wheels to help steer by them. I thought that was pretty fun. I never saw that on any youtube reviews or Ford literature, and not in the 700page owner's manual. What other fun stuff am I missing?
The fun stuff my neighbor down the road learned about his new F250 auto high beam headlights. We live in a sparsely populated rural area, and we very seldom see any law enforcement patrol on our back roads. My neighbor was driving his new F250 at night for the first time and disliked how the high beam lights seemed to go on and off for odd reasons. So that night he was driving slow down the rural backroads trying to figure out how to turn off the auto high beams. So focused on trying to figure out how to turn the auto high beams off, he didn't notice the vehicle catch up and follow behind him. Turned out to be a State Trooper patrol. My neighbor got pulled over for a drunk driving check. The Trooper said after following the slow moving truck down the middle of the road veering slowly left and right with intermittent brake lights on and off and intermittent high beams on and off, the Trooper thought surely it was a drunk driver. No arrest of course, neighbor doesn't even drink alcohol. Neighbor tells me this story the next morning while he is looking at the truck owners manual. I thought it was funny. Neighbor said the Trooper thought it was funny too.

My wife never drove the 24 until 4 weeks ago
Hmm I have a broken foot
But anyway the truck parked on our deep gravel side parking area, woth slight downhill to back up
or drive up to get to street
2wd the rear will dig in..if go pedal is not hmmm
Modulated
So I told my wife..put it 4h and idle up
Then 2wd when she gets to street some 50 feet away
so she brings truck up and around to front of house
concrete driveway off street
As she makes the turn the truck is binding rear and front and dislodging loose gravel on street
I am standing there on crutches. Smiling
She gets parked and tells me she saw me on the screen and tire tracks ...should use them to aim to run me over🤣🤣
When I get in drivers seat
I notice she didn't press 4h, she rotated drive mode to rock crawl
Do truck is in 4l, rear axle locked
no wonder she had all that grip
Of course being a good husband...I mentioned the 4h is this button....not the ****, and thats why thebtruck was leaping and sliding tires,
Thats when she gave me the look
So now I stand under carport next to her car
When she brings truck around...dont want to get rock crawled over my baby toe🤣🤣
That's interesting. I think the major part of my neighbor's complaint was the high beams turning off and on in curves, even with no other lights.... no houses, no vehicles, no street lights, no street signs. Our backroads are technically 55mph zone but usually people drive slower, and especially on curves. I am guessing my neighbor was slowing down to that cutoff threshold in curves. It is odd some engineers think you won't want high beam lights at night when driving slower.

I learned the other day that the light inside the center console doesn't shut off if the truck is on or was recently shut off. Didn't realize that until I set something in the open area next to the cup holders that was tall, and saw an odd shaped light on it. Figured out it was the light in the console shining through the hole that you can run charger wires through. Not going to worry about it but I found it interesting.

Since we're focusing on headlights, because it's hard to learn about headlights unless you're driving, I learned that when the fogs are on, the high beams pop up quick and fade down fast when the AI "sees" headlights or taillights. But, when the fogs are off, the high beams will both fade up to bright and fade down to dim. The corning lights still work the same but it's weird that the fogs change the functionality of the auto beams.
