Greasy!

I'm moving to PA in a couple of weeks, was born and raised in FL so I've never had to deal with salt and rotting vehicles before. Gave the truck a Fluid Film bath this weekend, went through six cans total. That stuff has an unmistakable smell but hopefully it keeps the rust from attacking everything.

I'm going to spray the door/hood hinges and latches but gave the underside and inside the frame rails a very generous coating.

As someone who has lived in this corner of the country most of my life, and someone who does their own maintenance and work on my vehicles, I hate those oily coatings. They do protect against liquid rust, but they make the underside an oily mess. I keep up with any rusty frame seams with rattle can spray paint and a wire brush and also use Amsoil HDMP. Same general idea as Fluid Film but cures to a waxy finish and doesn't grab dirt like Fluid Film. Living in the northeast, rust is just a part of life as far as I'm concerned. I do what I can to help, but it's inevitable.

That oil pan and drive shaft won't look like new for long.

Just had mine done at Krown, cost $100, they sprayed the crap out of every nook and crevice, dripped for a week.
Much easier than slithering around underneath and probably more thorough than I could have been with the cans.

I’ve had my 2013 Krown sprayed since new.
My truck is still factory black underneath.
$160.00 in Massachusetts, but worth every penny. It also doesn’t smell as bad as fluid film.

I haven't used it on my truck, just the underside of my mower decks. But I bought a Fluid Film kit on eBay a couple of years ago that came with a gallon of the stuff and an undercoating gun to spray it with. Works pretty good.
While it may prevent rust on the truck underside I agree with the other opinion posted that it's probably going to hang onto road grime. But I'd be interested in hearing what the results were of anyone who's done it.
I've never done anything to the Super Duty but I did just get my daily driver 2025 Hyundai Santa Cruz treated by Rust Check.

It’s not too bad for a 2013.

I've had my last three trucks WaxOyl'd and been very happy with it. No oily mess, holds up pretty well. But that reminds me I should schedule the annual touch-up.

Fluid Film definitely works if you keep up with it. I came from a Toyota Tacoma forum and some local members spray a bunch of their frames every year. Anyone that knows Toyota frame steel knows that if you look at it sideways, it’ll rust through. Those guys have had good luck with it on some aging frames in NE salt. It does work, it just creates a grimy mess for anyone working underneath the vehicle.

I don't care if the underside stays greasy & oily, as long as it keeps the rust and corrosion under control.

I used Fluid Film when I lived in the Midwest and it helped for sure. Messy - but works well.

I remember when I traded in my 2011 F250 the dealer thought it was some massive oil leak and I had to explain the reason why it was rust free lol.
