Hello I have a 1987 ford f250 6.9 diesel. Im curious about the climate controls I currently have to climate controls that are cable operated abd I was curious if there's a way to retrofit a different style of system. Is it possible to add vacuum motors and remove the cables. I'm open to ideas I'm in the process of restoring the truck. Any insight on what others have done would be greatly appreciated
The ‘87 controls with a separate push button for the a/c compressor was a one year only control panel. It doesn’t answer your question but why would you want to toss out the reliability of a cable for a bunch of vacuum lines and actuators?

I'm not opposed to keeping the cables but Im having a hard time sourcing new cables since the original ones were missing when I got the truck so I thought it wouldn't be easier in the long run to go to the vacuum operated system.

I'm not sure why my phone won't copy a functional link, but anyway, it's a data base of salvage yards. I found a bench seat for my '88 fifty five minutes from where I live.
