Question about abs light
I just replaced the abs unit for the rear brakes in my 1995 f-350 7.3 psd. I hastily removed the old rusty unit, and forgot to note which lines went to which ports on the unit. Anyways, I reinstalled it today, and all seems to be working right except the abs light won't turn off. Could I have reversed the brake lines? I blead the abs unit and all the brakes, but the light stays on. Any ideas? I connected the port towards the front of the truck to the master cylinder. Any help would be greatly appreciated, Tim.I would guess you have them in the right spots myself. Unless your unsure. If I was unsure I would look around for another truck to compare with.

What was the reason you replaced the part, was it just because it was too rusted? Also, was it a new or used part that you installed? The light generally indicates an electrical fault, did you do anything else related to electrical system? The brake lights can cause the light to stay on, if they are not connected, or if they are replaced with LED lights.
There is a connector under the passenger side of the dash that connects a single red wire to a single black/orange wire. With the ignition in the on (run) position, disconnect this connector and connect the black/orange wire to ground (vehicle body sheetmetal)using a jumper wire. The ABS light will blink out a code, similar to a check engine lamp flash code. Count the flashes, two digit codes will be flashed by a group of flashes, a pause, then another group of flashes.
Let us know what codes you get, maybe we can determine what is causing the light to stay on based upon the codes that are stored.
