Just my two cents but don't go cheap on the valve train. If your going to run that kind of cam make sure that the rest of your components are tip top. I have had bad experiences with running a beefy cam and not keeping the rest up to date. Deffinitly get some new springs and I wouldn't just go with stock new. A lot starts to happen when valves float. It donsn't just make the engine run rough. I have had to replace several sets of the stock two piece retainers that ford liked to use. I would recommend spending the cash and going to a one piece hardened retainer to keep the valves out of the cyliner bore. And if you are getting new springs look into a good set with a high close pressure. The main dammage happens when the valve comes crashing back against the seat. Without a high enough close press it will bounce and cause your keepers to rattle loose. It will make your guts turn the first time you pull the rocker covers off and see fagments of valve keepes laying ontop of the heads. Like I said when the valves leave thier home and find a new one in the side of the cylinder it isn't pretty.
I downloaded that sound byte too, that cam does sound very nice! Well, I do not work for either of those chopper places...I couldnt handle that...lol....I work for a larger company...American Ironhorse, but the reason I brought that up is because we run stock .600" lift cams......but the duration is small 232/242, so bikes and cars are similar yet so different, I am so used to working on bikes, I am trying to get used to working on the four wheeled cages..hah. Our bike engines also run a 4 1/8 inch bore and up to 4.75" stroke, so two major different animals. Anyway, back to the cage engines. I think I will will flip that trusty old coin as well...haha. Happy holidays in advance everyone.

Another bit of useless info, that could be taken however a person wanted too. When I called summit the other day to ask about a part, I came out and asked them, powermax or extreme energy? The fella didn't even take a breath, "extreme energy hands down", is what he said. I have asked jegs and summit before and received a similar response. Does that mean anything? Not really, but I thought I would share. What kinda bike/chopper do you own and would you have pix? later
HAHA,
I THINK ITS KIND OF LIKE WHAT BRAND OF COFFEE DO YOU PREFER. I GUESS I AM GOING TO JUST PICK A FLAVOR AND GIVE IT A TASTE, LOL. I THINK MY FIRST BREW WILL CONSIST OF THE XTREME ENERGY WITH NEW SPRINGS ETC ETC. THANKS AGAIN FOR SHARING ALL YOUR FINDINGS, IT HELPS A LOT! AS FAR AS THE BIKE, WE MAKE 30K PLUS DOLLAR BIKES, SO ITS A BIT ABOVE MY PRICE RANGE, EVEN WITH THE EMPLOYEE DISCOUNT, I JUST HAVE AN OLDER HARLEY SPORTSTER, ITS MY FIRST PRIDE AND JOY.
OH, AND I AM RUNNING CRANE CAMS IN IT, HAHAH.
KEEP ON TRUCKIN!@
