I have never been a fan of how mud flaps look on vehicles, but I also see the value in them when it comes to protecting the truck. What are everyone's thoughts? Are you running mud flaps or not?
Nope - no mudflaps here. I've never had them on a truck. If I'm flinging enough trash to need mud flaps, I likely need fender flares. I'd go paint-to-match flares before I went with mud flaps. Unless you're talking a dually, then mudflaps are a must.
I've always used Ford molded mud flaps. They've done the job for me with a nice fit and not big and ridiculously oversized. No drilling required either.
Ford molded ones are nice if you aren't getting off-road more than gravel or your yard. Had them on my wife's F150, they did a great job.
Heavy rubber ones are better if you occasionally find yourself in places where the molded ones might get damaged or torn off but aren't doing real wheeling.
If you're doing real wheeling...you know where this is going.

We live on a dirt road and have a farm. I get into enough weather and dirt to keep the dirt levels down on my white 350 Superduty that carries rocks, hay, straw and whoever else we need for the farm. I have always had mudflats and would not be without them. Each person can make up their own mind, but for me, mud flaps are a necessity.
Size of the OEM flaps is good, but are they supposed to have this big gap?
Mud runs down the backside of flap all the time. I know it's my OCD at work, but I like the flaps clean.
