I was trying to remove my injector harness and that ground wire in the back which would be under where the ficm is, seems to be stripped the whole lower part is turning.... it goes into a metal body back there, no idea what to do now...
any help is greatly appreciated.
John
That is not the ground wire for the FICM; it is the shielding ground wire. Cut the wire close to the ring terminal, and when you have the harness out, slice in a wire that will allow you to connect to any other fastener on the engine.
Your other issue is whether that manifold bolt is loose or the threads are stripped. The bolt threads could be stripped, or the head threads into which the bolt is inserted may be stripped. My guess would be the bolt is just loose.
Thx for tip, i didnt say grd for ficm, its under where the ficm goes, just part of the injector harness,
Anyway, good news, turns out that under that flange nut is another 10mm, which is part of that threaded rod going into that housing, but you need a real thin open end to grab it, with the plugs and junk in the way was so hard to see that it was another nut like piece. Older eyes prob dont help either....
Glad i got it off.
but like you said, otherwise could just grd elsewhere.
thx
