Hey guys. I have a 91 f250 xlt lariat standard cab long bed 2wd E4OD geared 4.11. The truck has 94,000 original miles on it and I had the transmission rebuilt at 91,000. The transmission won’t hold gear at first. It shifts up down up down up down up down and then finally catches and holds that gear. Next shift is the same thing up down up down up down up down. And it’s not a slow laggy shift it’s almost instant like it’s not fully shifting. Any advice or ideas??
You won't see a pro use that method
You will see them using one of these for a 1991

You probably have a shorted or oil contaminated E4OD harness
Means a scan tool and 50 cents will buy a cup of coffee
You need a service manual and to do a few pinpoint tests after retrieving a code
That is "if" there is a code you can scan and retrieve
The book is your friend

Not all of us are PROs like you. Not all of us have a Lincoln air ride system either.
A paper works just fine, if you know how to use it.
