On my 94 f150 with a 5.0 the speedometer doesn’t work. I’ve tried checking wiring, checked the transmission sensor, can’t get the rear axle sensor out to check it, but my odometer still works and fuse 18 is still good. What do I check now other than finding a way to get the rear sensor out. It’s also shifting lazy and it doesn’t want to shift back into 1st when I stop after shifting into 2nd. Any help would be appreciated
The ABS gets that signal first, followed by the cluster then followed by the processor IIRR
With a EVTM you should be able to trace down the splices and connectors in question
Agree, the signal is most likely there and you need a speedo
I'd pull the cluster out and check for the pulsating (AC milli) voltage from the VSS and replace the speedo after some testing
if the odometer i working the axle VSS is working.
ended up changing the vss on the diff and got the speedometer to work, but its bouncing around. its fairly stable (but bounces some) up to 30-35 mph then after that it just goes haywire. also I just realized that before I replaced the vss the odometer was showing the miles, but it wasn't recording them
