Vented cap for sure
What ford Fuel tank caps are vented for sure?
appreciative
Sam
I just checked my several with a vacuum / pressure hand pump. All three let air in under the slightest vacuum, like when the engine is running pulling fuel out. If I blew into them, it seemed they resisted letting air out, but my tester has a gauge and all three DO let pressure pass outwards. The Stant and the stock one with bad gasket would only let me pump about 2 or 3 psi before they let the air out, the MotoRad did let me get it to nearer 4 psi before letting it go.
NO holes are needed nor should any be drilled.
Safety catch legs on the Stant cap let you loosen the cap and not have it blow off suddenly if any pressure did build due to malfunction of the cap. If working properly, they all will let a little pressure (seams like a lot if you are trying to blow) exist before venting, If a roll over, then the vent valve will totally shut. I just go slow and ease the cap off and use a MotoRad one as I never smell gas with it. I used the Stant too, but got tired of the safety dogs.

I seen a guy on the side of I-64 about 2AM one crispy night, was at the Goshen exit, it must have been at least zero degrees, the sky was amazingly clear, we could see Hale-bopp the comet. Recall it like was yesterday.. I stopped to check on him. had a woman with him. Were pulled down the ramp past a guard rail over in the brush. He told me a tale of woe of why he was there 12 miles from the nearest gas station (which he had passed) with no gas, and how he was near broke, no phone, etc .... I offered him a ride back to Lexington to get a few gallons, as I knew was a 24 hr. station with loaner gas cans, with lids even. His wife declined, she seemed mad, but not at me. She had a blanket wrapped around her ... so I figured OK. He and I went, got him 5 gallons, he paid, I told attendant I'd bring the empty back to save him deposit and him backtracking. We got back, gas cap was a locking cap, and it would not open.
I called him a wrecker, she got out of their car with blanket still held tight. She sat in my heated car in front near the heater with me, he sat in back as we waited for the wrecker. While we waited for a wrecker driver to awake and get in his ice cold wrecker and respond to the boonies, maybe another 30 minutes or more, she talked to me..... but she never said a word to him except once when he said he was sorry. She did not sugar coat it. I dare say he never stopped for fun with her on an interstate after that night.
I took care of the gas can.
I'm almost sure MotoRad and Stant both have locking versions.
Yes, I’ve taken caps off my bikes to put on the truck lol
I’ll see if I can find a link to some but just search shovelhead gas caps and something should pop up
Be aware though that the left side tank uses a non-vented cap
