I was able to see the video. It is a few years old and was posted here back then, still such a shame to see though……
I’m not sure exactly what the EX driver’s reaction to the trailer sway event was but I do know what it wasn’t. In the event of a trailer sway event, as soon as you first notice it immediately activate the trailer brake controller manual slide to MAX while maintaining speed, that should bring the trailer back into line. Then pull over and evaluate why it swayed before continuing the trip.
I saw this video a few years back and showed it to the wife. I asked her if it was ok to spend a few bucks to redo the suspension/brakes. After seeing the video, she told I could get anything I wanted.
well, today, I was able to see the video, didn't see enough of the truck to decide what it was.
the driver had no clue how to handle that trailer, he should have hit Max Trailer brakes and kept power on the truck....
back in about 1973 I was pulling a 26 ft Yellowstone trailer down a steep draw, to cross a bridge and up a steep incline on the other side.
don't remember how fast I was going when the trailer started to sway, but I floor-boarded the 454 gas Suburban and hit the trailer brakes, it straightened out just before we crossed the bridge and we went on like nothing ever happened....
I do remember, that when I started down the incline, that a severe side gust of wind hit us, and the trailer went to the side fast....
at that time, the trailer was a Radio Repair shop on wheels, I was in the Oil Patch and went to where the problems were, 50 to 100 miles from anywhere, I had a good business at the time, no other repair shops within 200 miles of us.

A ProPride hitch is a wonderful addition to an Excursion/travel trailer set up, NO SWAY!!!! I have driven across the country and back twice and border to border and all around the East Coast and I can one hand drive at 70 MPH even with crosswinds and trucks passing.
I do not understand why people won't spend more money on a hitch when it is the connection between an expensive truck and expensive trailer. I have had my hitch since 2011 and it has been on 3 trailers.

I totally agree. I used the Hensley Arrow sway elimination WD hitch system with my old EX and 2 different trailer, a 31’ 9,500lb TH and a 41’ 3 slide 12K+ lbs TT, zero trailer sway in all conditions. Towed a total of almost 95K miles between those 2 trailer from Canada to FL and from the Atlantic to WY and West TX.
The ProPride and Hensley Arrow were both designed by the same guy and are very similar in their construction and performance, either one is a very wise investment if serious about towing.
