Transmission problems

All gears are forward besides park. What can I do to fix it or should I just get a used one and replace it?
Are you saying reverse goes forward, is neutral forwards too.

Yes. Reverse and neutral go forward as well. Yesterday when I went to the gas station to fill up my O/D light started flashing and it said trans fault on the cluster where it shows the milage. Then this morning I went to reverse and it went forward so I put it in neutral thinking I would roll backwards but it also went forward.

Thank you for your time and help. I guess I need to remove this one and replace it. How difficult is it to rebuild myself? I'm pretty mechanically inclined but I typically don't mess with transmissions so it'll be a new one for me

If you want to do it yourself, get a manual from www.atsg.com. There are also some tutorial videos on YouTube..
