I'm new. I purchased a 72 F100 2wd 4 speed w a 302. I am tryting to get the guage cluster working. I pulled the Guage cluster from the dash and I see that the large plug that fits into the back of the cluster is too small - not wide enough. Lots of mods to this truck so I am wondering if the cab was swaped? The heater controls and dash pad and cluster all appear correct for a 72. Not sure why the wiring plug doesn't fit? Are there different plugs? I will post some photos tomorrow but wanted to get my first post up. As it stands I am probably going to have to work out some wiring hack for the large socket (mylar type circuit board thingy) to the small plug on the loom side. Also seems that there is a 3 plug hazard plug that doesn't fit anywhere. Great Forum! The female / slot in the back of the instrument cluster is larger / longer than the plug on the loom side.

Thanks for taking the time to reply to my post! The connector (shown - loom side) is not broken - it is simply too narrow / too small. You can see the guides and the clips on each side / end are intact.
The large plug is for the 'idiot light only' gauge cluster - which is what my truck should have (and doesn't).
The other kind is the smaller plug for 'ammeter and oil pressure' gauge cluster (which is the gauge cluster I have in my dash and which is actually incorrect).
So, looking for info on how to swap the wires over to the ammeter & oil pressure' cluster that I have, or perhaps a bare plug (large size). I would rather not have to buy the proper early 'idiot light' guage cluster (where everything works) ....but if you have one let me know.

I can look in my parts, I may have the plug you are looking for as I am going to be using an F600 dash with plug. I have a few wiring harnesses in a box and need to look. The other option is to look at American Auto Wire and Painless Wiring, they may have some of the connectors.
My 1968 has a cluster from a 1972 in it, and nothing lined up well. The plug was grafted in to the original harness so some stuff worked, but there were a lot of changes made in this generation, which means that a lot of the different years are not transferable even though they fit.
