A/C condenser

Hey All, time for a new AC system. Not reusing any of the old. It hasn’t worked properly since the day I bought it.

Looking in the history / records (I have them back to day one) this system has been a problem since day one, and has been replaced one part at a time over the years at a couple of shops by the PO - A couple of times over. It just kept recontaminating itself. It will not hold a charge, and It’s not worth my chasing the leaks, or replacing just the compressor. No interest in trying to flush it either.

It keeps building up the black material and plugs the orifice tube, with metal in it. Pics below.

Right now I’m looking for a decent condenser, preferably one that has the additional anti corrosion protection.

Motorcraft doesn’t look available. Four seasons doesn’t look available.

I’ve ordered x3 Spectra, but each one has been worse than the previous. All of them bowed, poorly made. Not damaged in shipping, the boxes were all in good shape.

RA has UAC and GPD, I can’t remember if either of those are good or not. I used one of those brands in the past, but it was poorly made, and wouldn’t work - and I can not remember which brand.

2006 F250 CCSB.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

(I might make duplicate thread over at the org). (EDIT: I’m going to try napa first, hopefully they have ones with the extra coating - still open to suggestions if no go there).

I’ll post up when I find a decent one.

Pics.

Sepctra. First or Second one - lost track of the pics. First and second were bowed or warped. Looked like poor assembly as well.

Third try. Bowed so bad, I’m not sure it would even fit.. Agan, the shipping box was in good shape.

I believe performance radiator also makes condensers.

They are the company that makes/sells the all aluminum radiator people get from BPD, maybe they can steer you in the right direction.

Thanks Joe, They probably make good ones. $150 usd. Free shipping in the USA. I’ll give them a call.

About double the price of RA UAC for me. The UAC has the additional corrosion protection, although I’m not sure how well, if at all, it works. Might be worth it here in the rust belt.

Looks like Performance has everything else too. Lines, accumulator, evap, compressor.

Condenser. Assuming this is the correct place, I’ve not used their site before.

Very nice, and yes that is the site.

When I did mine complete a few years ago, I went with all Ford and so far it has been flawless (except for one issue).

The high pressure line pop off valve came defective from the factory. Off gassed in a fuel station in 100+ heat after a 4hr drive, just an FYI for you....keep all your old high/low pressure switches and pop off valve just incase.

I would consider a CSF condenser.

Good to know Joe, thanks. I always keep my old parts. It’s a sickness, lol.

Thank you Moto, I’ll look into those as well.
