I have a 97 Ford f250 i just picked it up today. Has a very hard neck breaking shifts. It shifts slightly better sometimes but mostly very hard shifts. The spedo needle also bounces back and fourth idk if those issues would be linked together. My current guess would be range sensor or torque converter. torque converter is the last thing im going to attempt to replace. It looks as if the ICP sensor has already been change in hopes to fix it i assume but thats the only thing i can tell thats brand new and was replaced. No check engine light (unless the bulbs gone in it). no flashing overdrive light. 300k miles 7.3 powerstroke. I just ordered the range and vss sensor to try those

Do this reset the APS (accelerator position sensor) by doing a KOEO immediately press the pedal slowly to the floor then immediately release it turn key to the OFF position, then repeat the process 2 more times. Then take it for a test drive and see how it shifts.

went ahead and gave that a try but cant test drive it till tmr. ill redo it tmr after the test drive to verify it worked after sitting all night. No check engine light. and i cant find the obd2 port on this thing to even read the codes. I just tracked down and found the map sensor and notice one wire from it has clamps to clamp the wire back together and it is not connected. should it be connected and if so why would someone do this? ill attach picture of the map sensor and the two wires im talking about.
vss and range sensor will be in this friday so i will let you know if it fixes anything. I did wire the map to stock and it changed nothing but ill leave it how its suppose to be
Changed the map sensor, range and vss. And did a filter and fluid change. It’s still doing rhe same thing. But it is as if it’s just shifting late and causing it shift hard. I test drove it, floored it and it didnt shift down i let off and then it shifted real hard. Driving normally it wont shift until about 2000-2300rpm and if let it rev over that it will shift very hard. If i kinda hold the pedal to 2000-2300 it doesnt shift that bad if not great. No codes have came after reset but i may have just not drove it enough for a code

Does it have the pass code, or no codes at all? If the PCM doesn't see anything wrong it reports a pass code.
no codes at all. Im using a normal obd2 scanner
says DTCs in this ecu=124 idk what that is or if thats normal. Currently doing a live data on the scanner and it’s reading 0 absolute throttle position, 0gs air flow rate from mass air flow, -40 coolant temp, 650rpms idle or so, 0psi fuel rail pressure, -64BTDC ignition timing cylinder 1, intake air temp -40, intake manifold absolute pressure 0,

now i got a map sensor circuit low, just replaced map sensor code P0107, then p0603 KAPWR circuit power interrupted, then p0236 turbocharger boost sensor a# circuit, performance fault

thinking it needs the Baro Sensor. Map is new. But would that cause transmission to kick like it is?

So it has no codes, but has a code 124. I'm very confused.
Most OBDII scanners will not read Ford transmission codes. I recommend downloading Forscan free at www.forscan.org. You don't need to buy a license to read codes. Their page also shows how to select an adapter to plug into the OBDII port.

has p0107 barometric sensor and p0236 turbocharge boost sensor a#. Just took it on a 30 minutes trip. No power floored. It revs up and goes to a stand still and only makes 5lbs of boost. I let off then it shifts real real hard kicks me. Hardly can climb a mountain road without losing power up it. Video of it being floored is attached
