Valvoline Restore and Protect
Valvoline products consistently yield some of the best (lowest) wear metals per 1000 miles of anything out there. They make great oils without all the hype surrounding boutique oils and usually beat Mobil/Exxon oils. Restore and protect is a great oil even if your engine is new. I'm running the Valvoline synthetic high mileage in my Godzilla because of the high moly they put in it relative to their other products.

No. I honestly don't think anyone can "tell" by feel. It's meets ford's spec and real world UOAs tell me what I need to know.
Either you'll have "good" cam/lifter or you'll have "crap" cam/lifter. Pick what flavor of oil and enjoy the truck.

The Valvoline Restore and Protect has a special cleaning additive to keep internals clean and carbon buildup especially around ring groves which is a common problem with Direct Injected engines. Your 7.3 is Port Injected so carbon build up is not an issue. I personally like Mobil 1 both regular and EP versions and Motorcraft synthetic blend oils. Either one will get you an easy +200k miles.
That’s exactly where I heard from it from; it seems like all trucks have a “favorite” oil that owners use. For instance, in a Hemi, we used red line, and it would drastically change the engine smoothness and cam lob failure due to cylinder deactivation. Literally the audible tone of the engine running would change (for the better). I have yet to find that favorite oil in all my research so far.
Guess I’m old and not into oil analysis. Regardless of one’s opinion, there is no magic mechanic in a bottle.
I use Wally Supertech, have for 60k hard miles. No issues. Cost me 46-48 bucks with filter. So, run a $35 dollar scan and see about how much longer you can go or just swap that old stuff again with fresh and not ponder.

For our cars and trucks, it’s a supertech world. We have a ranger (2.3) in the family with over 600k, no internal work besides the timing belt. It’s entire lifetime we used supertech at 10k intervals. The little beast still makes weekly dump runs.
