Ford 5.x Update

I obviously have some learning to do. This is my first Sync 4 vehicle. I've been trying to figure out why my cluster keeps reverting back to the "My View" main screen, and in doing so found the TSB associated with it. Figured I could solve it with FDRS, found out that I couldn't. Then found that Ford released a software update back in 23 that should have fixed this, but my truck was on a ranch in Texas, and has only ever had 2 updates, and that wasn't one of them.

I've read that there really isn't a way to initiate an OTA update. Has that changed? Is calling Ford's technical support worth it?

Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Can't initiate an OTA update, they get pushed out when they get pushed out. I think there's a way to download the update and put it on a USB stick but I've never personally tried it.

Other option is to have it done by a dealership.

The USB offline method went away with Sync 4

Updates can be done via FDRS is they are available for your truck based on VIN

Unfortunately I updated every module that had an update in FDRS. The IPC wasn't one of them.

I tried to PMI the IPC to see if it would pull an update and it didn't. I also tried to PMI the APIM no luck their either.

My 23 has the same issue. I sure wish I could get it fixed. Dealership had no interest in helping.

My 2023 had this issue as well. I got the dealership to update the IPC after I complained about the direction I was driving not being displayed even though it was referenced in the owners manual. You might try that.
