Pulled into clean bay at local car wash. Gave the (1984..F-150) truck a good wash..the shot the undercarriage good as well. Pulled out to vacuum..and noticed this plastic piece laying where I had just been..I've looked at the underside..but don't see a place where this might attach. There are no Ford part numbers on it..just a series of random numbers that do not show up anywhere on Google..Anyone have an answer..or a guess ?..thanks..Jerry............
I did not know you posted this 2 times
From your other post
A little better picture or 2 (you did that above) might help along with something to tell the size like a ruler next to it.
Also was it to the front or rear of where the truck was in the bay could also help.
But as a guess I dont think it was from your truck as I have taken 2 81 F100 trucks apart down to the bare frame and dont remember seeing anything like that on either and was a pretty complete truck when I took it apart.

Are you talking of the duck bills?
They are on the lower sides of the cowl and they drain onto the rear part of the inner fender well from what I remember on both my trucks.
They say you can remove a few of the screws on the inner fender, pull it down and reach up and get to the duck bill.

I just looked up under my 86, I can't see anything like that above the inner fender liner where it attaches under the chassis kind of below the door hinges.
I looked up behind that liner (in that gap) and could only see the metal cab.
There is nothing but the duck bills and they dont look anything like the part he is showing
There are no shields below the HVAC box to block heat from it either.
I do have fenders with liners off the cab and the cab flipped on its back on my car trailer and can tell you there is nothing like that on our trucks that I have seen.
I think it was there when he pulled in and did not see it till he pulled out and looked back.

Looks aftermarket to me, if it did come off your truck inspect the area directly above where you found it. It might have been laying there and you didn't see it? Looks like part of a mudflap a base or cover. Slots to let water through?
