the tilt column in my 84 bronco doesn't like to lock into position.
There is one low position that it locks into, but in all the upper positions it will seem to lock , but will randonly drop down while driving
I've never taken a steeing coulumn apart before. should I be looking for a new column or can the one I have be fixed.

yea, i h ad the same problem with mine. if you pull the steering wheel off y ou can see the stupid setup that they used. the pressure downwards will cause the wheel to pop over the stop. What i did was to pull the steering wheel while it was set where i wanted it, and jambed a piece of cardboard i believe in there, so the adjuster was stuck in one position. as far as properly fixing it, not sure if its possible. this was in my old 84, not my 94 too.
OH man I love the Haynes manual....I will check it tonight to see if there is something that I can come up with. Hopefully get you the part listing that you need. If it went to gether, then its bound to come apart. Should be able to replace a part or two.
