Locking door issue
i' am keeping the battery unplugged so it don't kill itself. its a 1987 Ford Ranger XLT
I've had one of my 99 factory remotes begin to act out like that because of a Weak battery. Load test any replacement battery so you don't get an old stock wimpy one & have Murphey's Law mess with your trouble-shoot.
Lastly, one of my 99 Ranger remotes got washed & dried with the laundry & months later began to act out like that. Was working on the truck in the driveway & every 5 min or so I'd hear the lock solenoids cycle, thought it was the Wife messing with my mind. i removed both remotes battery, confirmed phantom cycling stopped, then replaced remote battery one at a time to find the faulty one. Also tried swapping the good remote battery into the suspect remote to confirm it wasn't a battery problem, cause Murphey likes to mess with me like that too lol. Some thoughts for consideration. Let us know what you find.
