Looking at installing some rock lights in each of the bed steps. Anyone done this or have pointers?
looking at tapping into running lights. Assuming I just run the wire of each light to the running light and tap it into that. Does that sound about right? If so, anyone know where or which wire is the correct one to tap into? Saw YouTube videp of 23+ 250 where a guy had them done but no install info or anything on it.
Anyone know which wire running along the cab is the wire to the running lights? I want to tap into this in the rear so I can drop a tiny rock light in each bed step
So I pulled tail light out, the harness plugging into the top red light has 3 wires. Assuming one for turn, one for running, and one for brake. Anyone know which is the running wire color? No idea how to use this darn multimeter to see which is hot when the running light is on lol.

Youtube has a ton of good videos on the basics of using a multimeter in general and automotive applications. Check them out, it is really pretty straightforward.
mljh85,
Can you post the answer here for us?
Thanks,

this is what they posted on the tremor forum regarding my question...
Looking at the rear tail lights, there are 3 wires going to them. The parking light wire in both the left and right taillights is a blue/white wire. These trucks are sensitive and monitor any additional draw on a circuit, which may cause a trouble code or the lights won't work properly. I know I tried to tap a background light in a boost/vacuum gauge to my cab running lights, so that it came on with the headlights, and the light flickered. I called the gauge manufacturer, and they said these new trucks use can bus, and only supply the voltage/amps needed to run what was designed for that circuit, and when you add something, you add more load than the truck thinks should be there. If it causes problems, connect it to an overhead aux switch
Do you want them on with the running lights or on when you want them on? I'm going to tap into the switch that turns the bed lights on so they will only come on when that switch is turned on or if I use my 360 lighting.

I'm going to tap into the running light or license plate light so they're on more often
Trying to revive this, but I am attempting to find a DRL wire to tap. So far mu understanding is the side markers on my headlights arent monitored by the can bus, however I am having a horrible time trying to get to the back of them. Anyone have any hints?
If you go to f150leds.com they have side vent lights. They show you the install and the wire to tap for the running lights. PITA to get to especially if you have dual battery setup. But it's manageable
