I had bak replace my 8’ revolver x4s cover from my 21 450 as the old one was weather damaged again. I got a retrax with the new truck so I have the used rails and brand new in box x4s revolver cover for sale if anyone is interested in one for half price of new. I have all the mounting hardware as well. Asking $1000. To be clear the rails and hardware are used but in great condition no damage. The cover itself is brand new warranty replacement still in the box it came to me in.
Hey folks, I’ve been following this thread and have seen a lot of the feedback on the MX4. The water intrusion complaints, end caps popping out, and long-term durability issues seem pretty consistent, especially on heavier use trucks.
If anyone is still shopping and wants another option to compare, you may want to look at the Worksport AL4 hard folding cover. It’s in the same category as the MX4 but built a bit differently:
• Full aluminum panels instead of mixed materials
• No vinyl top to absorb water over time
• Low-profile hard flip-up design with full bed access
• Made in the USA
We're not claiming its a waterproof submarine either, but the sealing approach and all-metal construction avoids a lot of the long-term issues people are describing above.
Only callout is that they don’t support 8 foot beds yet, but they do cover most 2023+ Super Duty configurations otherwise.
Just figured I’d throw it out there as another comparison point since MX4 keeps coming up and clearly hasn’t been a great experience for some folks here.

I wish I had seen this when I got my MX4... Don't get me wrong, I like the idea of the MX4, being 4 panels so it can fold all the way up, flush fit and a hard top. I don't use mine hard, but I do use it. I also don't expect it to be completely waterproof, but I do expect them to be more waterproof than (both) my MX4's have been. I don't stack anything heavy on top of it, but I have also found that just setting a pack of water on the top of the MX4 so I can close the tailgate real quick doesn't work... the MX4 will sag enough from a case of water so that it doesn't allow the tailgate to close... Also, the seals all along the sides have lifted and now water is seeping in through the sides and leaking from the attachment point that is used to hold it open against the back window. I have found screws inside my bed that have fell out of the hardware on the underside of the cover, and it has faded. I haven't even had this one on for 4 full years yet, and it is faded... Nevermind the constant problem of the end caps popping out... All in all, the MX4 has been a huge let down.
I must say, I have never heard of the WorkSport cover, but looking at the photos and the video it does look like a better/nicer version of the MX4... however, all the photos I see show 3 panels, not 4. I'm not sure how I would feel about only having 3 panels, but I will say that after knowing what I know about the MX4 from experience, I would try anything else before the MX4 again. I wish I could just replace it now, but unfortunately I can't... so I will save the link for this one to consider one day.
Pretty happy with the Peragon Tectonic so far, very solid and good seals all around...pricey though. At least they updated the hinge bolts to be thumb screws now, so they're pretty easy to take out and remove the panels when needed.
I've had the original Peragon retractable cover in the past on another truck, it was a little finicky and the process of opening it wasn't the best.
On my other pickups I have used the BAK rollup bed covers. When I picked up my 24 F350 I decided to.change things up and bought the Undercover Tri-fold bed cover. Another factor in the decision was it came with a 5 year warranty however the place I bought it from adds another 5 years to the warranty (10 years) if they installed the bed cover.
So far I have been happy with it. The partitions are light enough if I have to remove them and it has been water tight so far. Even in heavey rains.
about to put the gen3 bakflip on my 8' but my other 2 trucks i'm running the agri access lomax stance hard fold and love them but sadly they don't make for 8' bed, neither does that worksport so options more limited for the 8' bed, will see how the updated baxflip holds up, not much choice for that style...
