Oil seperator, time to replace?

I have a 2015 F-250 PSD. The CCV box was worked on by Ford a number of years ago, something to do with Customer satisfaction Program 17M04. The top of the box is not removable, so I assume I have the filterless box. At 130K miles, I have no oil leaks, no blow by based on the oil filler cap test, only a little vapor present when the oil filler cap is removed, engine running or not. Does this box need replacement as a matter of routine? I assume from reading here on FTE, if a replacement is needed, use the CCV box for 2023-2025 trucks?

Thanks in advance.

If they replaced the box with that recall, you may be good but I'm thinking that port could possibly get clogged up at one point resulting in more oil flowing into the intake when it doesn't drain out of the box after the truck shuts off.

Here's a page on Diesel Hub I just found with a lot of info on the 6.7 CCV factory box.

Good info there. Sounds like it should be replaced, just for good measure.

Just a HEADS UP about Amazon and Ebay

I went on Amazon to check and see for the latest version of the CCV box, PC3Z-6A785-A, and it appears there are many counterfeits listed not only cheaper than what an OEM authentic CCV separator would cost, but also close to full price. I have to assume that Ebay is just as bad. Amazon did have one that appeared to be legit as it was listed as "FORD," but just be aware of this before you pull the trigger and think you are saving money on a legit separator. I will probably order mine from Village Ford Parts.

That's where I am going to order from. But, the rumor is we should be replacing with the 2023-2025 model box?

That's the part number for the 23 CCV box I gave you. You absolutely can run that new box. They also supplied a part number of FC3Z-6A785-C for my truck but does look like it has the hose with the plug in sensor on the end which mine did not have.

Yes, I plan on buying the newest CCV box design and it is cheaper than the original box my truck came with.

Thanks for the info. I am ordering the one from Village. Just need to verify mine does not have the sensor i guess. Looks like the job is doable with a little patience, and a of of swearing.

You are welcome.

The best item I ever bought, though not cheap, is the BulletProof Tech Step. I love that thing. Gives me a stable platform to stand on right in front of the truck where it's needed.

Just an update:

Finally got around to performing this repair today. It wasn't nearly as bad as I feared. Took about an hour and a half, a couple of long socket extensions and only a few swear words. My 2015 had the sensor on the intake end with the one time use security collar. That one time use connector can be easily removed in tact with a pick tool. I cut the hose on the old box to re-use the end with the sensor, and using a hair dryer on the new 2023+ box allowed for easy removal of the sensor-less end. Several Youtube videos showing the procedure for reference.

So, anyone considering this repair, it's not that hard at all.
