Hello everyone, I have a problem with my wiper arms because at each end there is a sort of crimped washer in which the motor shaft and the wiper drivers are fixed and on mine they are broken. I looked at LMC and DENNIS CARPENTER to buy new arms but the left side is unavailable everywhere. Do you have another solution to replace these washers ?
ADELEANDRE, it’s helpful when you include , perhaps, drawings from the shop manual and/or a few photos, to highlight the parts referred to? I found all the wiper parts I needed, New Old Stock, on eBay - motor,, switch, linkage parts.
ADELEANDRE, those pieces are not, to my knowledge serviceable/replaceable, though you may be able to do something yourself. . AFAIK, no one is reproducing just those grommets. I bought the linkage arms new old stock on eBay, seem to come up fairly regularly, at least for my 66. Also, for my 66, anyway, the arms are two different lengths.
According to the 1957-1963 Master Parts Catalog the 2 speed wiper motors use the same arm left and right.
I also looked in the paper 1961-only Truck Parts and Accessories catalog, and it only shows the one number used for all except Tilt Cab, Parcel Delivery and School Bus.
C1TB-17540-A - ARM - WINDSHIELD WIPER MOUNTING - L.H. - 12 1/2" Long - Silver
Having said all of that - if your trucks wiper arms are different than each other then I'd have to assume the other one is the
C3TZ-17545-A - ARM - WINDSHIELD WIPER MOUNTING - R.H. - 12 1/4" Long - Black
First year of use is 1963 as the C3 first two characters of that part number imply. But this is also the Right-Hand side according to everything I've read and understand from my own trucks - not the Left-Hand side. Note these places are measuring center hole to center hole instead of overall length like Ford did. My pictures are of NOS parts not reproduction so the silver and black are correct identifying colors. I think many of the places that are offering reproductions have the colors mixed up or don't use the colors at all to identify them.
At Dennis Carpenter they differentiate between right and left, the right is available in stock but not the left, I'll ask them if they plan to restock soon.
Here's the entry from the 1964-72 MPC and it also shows opposite than what Dennis Carpenter is saying. Most of the other vendors I've looked at don't agree with Dennis Carpenter, either. Examples at Carolina Classics and Auto Krafters in my first post - they show to have them in stock, too.
But you'll be able to tell there I'm sure as to which one you need by measuring the overall length or center to center of your old ones. I have to imagine that something has been changed on your truck since it left the factory. Best of luck on them working properly once you are done.
