Looking for a fuel pressure regulator for my 87 ford f150 5.0L.

I bought one on ebay and it had the wrong plate fitment onto the fuel rail so would not work.
Anyone have one of these? I believe Bosch made the OEM ones.
The one on the truck (walker brand) is dropping fuel pressure when the rig starts turning over down to ~30 making
hard starts. Something amiss with the spring I assume.
I wonder if one from any '87 5.0L would work? LMR has an adjustable one for $45 (87 Mustang) that you could dial in your pressure, it looks like it has the same base from the photo compared to your truck one.
the top nipple where you adjust the pressure...wonder if it still works with vacuum from the engine...if not, I'm guessing it would cause the
PCM to not work as intended.
Boy, it just seems harder and harder to get reliable parts, I mean how hard is it to build a regulator. I guess you are stuck with Ebay or Amazon for NOS.
the issue I'm chasing here is the truck exhibits a hard start condition (long crank) when the vacuum line to the FPR is connected. it will eventually start but takes
around 20+ seconds before lighting off. Once running, is fine.
If I disconnect the vacuum line off the FPR, it will start immediately...no hesitation.
I put a new inline high pressure pump (delphi) a few weeks back. pressure at the rail is 38 PSI with key in the ON position (not started). when started with
the vacuum line to the FPR, pressure drops to 30 PSI. from my limited knowledge, this is normal for these trucks. (5.0L).
there is no leaking of fuel from the FPR when the engine is running with the vacuum line off. I ran it for 15+ minutes and watched the nipple ...nothing leaking.
have not tested that specifically. if there was a leaky injector(s), why would it start right up with the FPR vacuum hose off? it's like the lower pressure when vacuum is being
supplied to it that is the cause. my understanding is that when high vacuum is present (ie: at IDLE), this opens the diaphragm allowing fuel to return to the tank lowering pressure.
A weak spring would let too much fuel out of the rail. No vacuum and the pressure remains at 38 PSI and it starts right up.
I went through several FPRs to get the right pressure at the rail. I just resorted to it being "good enough". It seems like yours is malfunctioning though. I would take a scroll on rockauto and see what they offer. SMP is pretty good along with delphi.

Are you saying the one you bought had two bolts instead of three? That’s on you for not knowing what you needed. A quick on RockAuto would have told you that. I would use any of the “daily driver” regulators
I HAD purchased one from rock auto before (walker) and it is now malfunctioning. I had picked one up on ebay. The listing didn't show all 3 mounting holes ...only 2 but the seller indicated it would work on a 5.0L engine. The mounting style was not triangular so it would not work. Finding the exact part # from ford for the model year proved an exercise. But I found it. Looks like they are not easily had. There are others I know (SMP, Delphi, walker, etc.). Just had a bad experience with them.
will pick up a delphi when I get to florida and bring it back north. thx. getting stuff shipped to canuckistan is becoming very spendy and time consuming.
