Are those "2 bolt mounts" the ones that were previously installed on the block?
I'm thinking that you need the "4 bolt motor mounts" since there are 2 empty holes in the block right next to the motor mount.

This engine has not been in this truck before. It's a build I had done by a guy in Tennessee. I just grabbed my old mounts to test fit this in the chassis, but I couldn't remember how they came off.
4 bolt mount? Hmm, not sure I've seen those. I'll have to look into that.
I have egg on my face....in looking further into this, I read that Ford added a second set of mounting holes into the block for the later year models use of a 3 bolt mounting bracket. That being said, I now believe that you need to use the 2 holes closest to the center freeze plug. As far as it being upside down, my engine blocks have "TOP" cast into the rubber edge. Sorry for sending incorrect info....
Thought I would re-visit this topic for clarity after recently swapping mounts back and forth.
I compared the 2 bolt mount with the 3 bolt type and they put the mounting stud in exactly the same place. I have now bolted up the 3 bolt mounts and plan to leave these in place. It seems that it's just 2 different ways to accomplish the same thing.
