Motor mounts

I recently bought a 1962 390 out of a thunderbird and wanted to put it in my 1976 Highboy but it only has one set of motor mounts holes does anyone have any ideas how to make it work?

You need to do some research, the 332-428engine forum would be an excellent place. there are differences in the very early FE's and I'm not sure what they are. it may not be worth the effort to use a '62.

My experience with engine swaps is usually you have to fabricate your own. Set engine in place where it will live then measure, cut and weld up some steel, drill holes mount with gr 8 bolts. Oh yea,,, also paint with flat blk paint before installing...

Since the '76 came with an FE it's not really a swap, it's just that an FE of that vintage has differences. seems like maybe the bellhousing pattern and a few other things. I've just always avoided the old ones.

1965 may have been the first with 4 mount holes, some 63 engines had alternator hole in block but all 64s did. You will have to adapt mounts. Someone makes an adapter for the alternator, they may have to 2 to 4 side mount adapter also.
