Startup procedure following HPO resealing

Truck died going down the highway a month back, got it home and did an air test, heard a leak someplace in the V so I did PPE standpipes (bottom of one of the standpipes was hammered out), resealed the HPOP and did the seals in the J tube as well. Got everything back together last night, unplugged the FICM relay and got to cranking. Did a few minutes of 15 second cycles and nothing came of it. Air tested it again and it held pressure. Put a 3000 psi gauge into the ICP port and the needle didn't even move. Am I missing something or does it take hours of cranking for it to eventually fire?

What year? Late '04 possibly?

Post a pic of the top of your engine.

In this thread you said it started:

It is a late '04, has 2 piece standpipes and wavy oil rails, round HPOP.

Yeah, it can take a concerningly long time. And can be surprisingly sudden when it does catch.

I normally pull the FICM relay and do 4-ish 20/30 second cycles before even trying to put fuel to it.
