whats up ford enthuses,
i have a 1989 ford f-150, 302, 4x4. i just had the engine rebuilt and currently have around 5,000 miles on the new one. i think this only happens when its cold but im not to sure, but whats happens is that when i get down on it, full throttle, the engine seems to flood, i think thats the problem. it will pick up and go but then some time during 1 first gear it bogs down but only for a sec or 2 at a time then it picks back up. im not to sure whats wrong but i would like any advice i could get. thanks guys, fords rule.
try the fuel regulator. it has a vacuum line going to it and if you take it off while the engine is running and gas comes out then your regulator is bad. the regulator is on the back of the engine on the fuel rail. it is a round aluminum piece with a vaccuum line coming off of it
