I purchased this truck used, and it appears to be a bit taller than stock height. I'm not an expert on suspension mods on Ford vehicles, so I'd like some guidance on how to determine if and by how much it was lifted. It needs new shocks, so they need to be the correct length, and those installed currently are unidentifiable. Are there measurements I can make underneath on components that might tell me? The tires are oversized as well, so chassis to ground is probably not a good baseline.
any shocks made for up to 2.5" of front lift will be fine. looks leveled, especially since it has the heavy bumper on the front. tires look close enough to stock.
you also have front shock lower extenders installed.
so it has a 2” top of spring spacer as well as a 2” shock extender.
so if the objective is what shock to buy ….depends if you plan to use those lower shock extenders or not.
Looking under my truck is see that I do have the items in both of these pictures. So is that a factory thing, or is it aftermarket? Am I right in assuming that because of the resultant geometry, stock length shocks are the correct choice?

Aftermarket. Shock choice will depend on if you plan to continue using the shock extensions, or not.
You should get rid of the spring spacers and the shock extensions. Thats hillbilly kit.
Get Fox 2.0 shocks for 0-2" lift, and plow springs. That should keep the front tall, but put some rake back in, for towing. If you need more height after that, in the front, add a BDS 1" spring spacer.
But yeah I just bought a used one and noticed it sat higher up front about like yours and it has a 2.5 lift spacer under the spring. Since I tow I will take it out and install 1.5 inch lift springs which work fine for me.
If you plan to leave the lift I would see if it has a track bar drop bracket to center up the axle.
Would also add caster when you do an alignment.
As far as shocks run the Rancho RS7MT for up to 2.5” lift. They work fine on another f250 of mine with a 1.5” lift. Ride smooth. You are definitely over 1” lift but definitely under 3”, so I can verify those work and they are good quality and inexpensive.
Oh and when you are due for tires use the 295/65/20 size. Spec ok for the stock wheels and wont rub. About 1/2” taller than a 35x12.50 and a little skinnier.
