99 f250 8" lift: wanting reduce height with out changing lift

I have a Skyjacker 8" suspension lift with shackles. I'm very new to lifts an just bought this truck.
Currently have 20" wheels wrapped with 38" tires. I'm not liking the height an my best solution an easiest solution since tires are shot is to go to 35" tires.

Please let me know what you think an if I decided to change my shackles to shorter ones with the Current shocks will that put too much down force or pressure on the shocks?

If you're sure you have aftermarket hangers you can replace them with stock hangers. But from the way your describing it (8in lift and a shackle kit)your still going to have the 8in springs but your still to high to run 35's without looking goofy but you maybe able to take a leaf or 2 out of them and be ok height wise for 35's. Depending on how the rear is lifted you may just be be able to change the blocks for shorter ones in the rear. We're Going to need more info on how your truck is lifted, maybe post some pics. And yea your most likely going to need new shocks kinda depends on how compressed they currently are and how much lift you end up with.

I don't have pics of the rear shocks will take some tomorrow. I don't see any stickers or part number on the shocks them selves but I really need to drop at least 3" as its too hard to get in an out with my knees. Not sure how much new shocks would cost (to be at a 5-6" lift) But hoping I can change shackles (something easier) then swapping out the whole kit for another. I definitely want to get RIF of the 38's as even with spaces my fronts are rubbing on leaf springs so I figured going from a 38-15.50-20 to a 35-12.50-20 or even an 18" rim.

I also just realized the last pic is in a part of my property where its very un-even terrain causing my shock to be fully entended making it look like a huge gap in the wheel well

You were ready with the pictures. Did you buy it like this. Gonna have to admit I don't think I've ever seen one lifted like that before. I looks like you still have the stock 2 leaf pack in the front and they made or had shackles made to gain all that lift and then used a super lift track bar bracket which appears to be a pretty nice one btw, and a drop pitman arm for the steering. Looks like the same in the rear stock leaf pack with hangers minus the steering obviously. You're also missing the front drive shaft hopefully it's rolling around in the bed or in the garage. You just need to find all new hangers for the front and rear plus a factory track bar bracket and pitman arm and you'll be at stock height. then if you want to have it lifted or put a leveling kit on it you can. If you want to lift it the kits come with the appropriate size track bar bracket and pitman arm so you wouldn't need to worry about getting those just the spring hangers. I can't believe they spent all that money on the bilstein reservoir shocks and used those hood fab hangers . Not trying to offend you if this was your idea but somethings just make you shake your head if you know what I mean. The leaf sprung super duties aren't that expensive to lift the right way. If it were my truck and this is just me but I wouldn't even be driving it till those hangers were gone. Sorry for the long post but hopefully it's informative tried to address everything I saw. And again not trying to offend you. that is a cool color also don't see many of those.

As mentioned just bought the truck as is an drive shaft is in the bed. So as I was pointing out is but seems its a no that I would not be able to keep the current shocks and lower myvlift by at least 2" by getting smaller shackles?

Also what are the valves at the bottom of the shocks? Are they to pump with compressed air or?
