rear diff broke?
Havent been on here in more than a long time. Son has a 2011 f150 lariat with the 6.2l with the #7700 tow pkg. axel is noted as “b6” which is 3.73 limited slip….is it the 8.8 or the 9.75”
I ask because due to way to big tires 40” on 6 or 8” lift and tik tok mechanics not changing gear ratios…. The rear wheels locked up while at an intersection…. I am assuming that the whole differential went out. Thoughts on price wise swapping axel? Or just gearing inside diff? Thought? It got towed to a dealership which I don’t believe is the most cost effective of course but was close by on a Saturday hour away from home. SO I guess do you guys think it is just everything blown behind the differential plate? I have a hard time believing that the actual axel is a issue?

normal mode of failure would not be a total LOCK UP.
